Introduction to ROK

Welcome to this new blog on Rise of Kingdoms (ROK).

I have been playing this game for a couple of years now and have a number of accounts in different kingdoms and have taken part in many kingdom v kingdom (kvk) events. Over the course of the next few articles I will be focusing on elements for new users.

You may have already started the game and are a few weeks into your very first account in a kingdom and thought... damn I have done this all wrong and will need to start again in a new kingdom - but before I do I need to find some tips on what I have been doing wrong - and you may have stumbled upon this blog. There are many other sites out there that will also help you, so visit them also.

So in this first post I will do a quick introduction to the game and add some overall tips for starting out. I should point out this is my opinion through my many years playing this game and may not be shared by everyone. But that's what the comment section is for right!

The game is not yet available on PC (unless through something called Bluestacks), but the developers are working on that.  Instead it is available on IOS or Android.

If when you first start the game it may randomly puts you into an older kingdom, don't use that instead start out in the newest kingdom. You check and if necessary you can do that via settings > Character management - then create a new character.

Over the next few articles I will go into more details on different elements such as which civilization to start out on, commanders etc.

For now I want to finish this article with some basic starter tips:

  • Don't research the Economic tree at the start (in the Academy), do military.  That is because when scouting and finding villages they will give you economic items in the early parts of the tree.
  • You may wish to join a jumper alliance and build up your power and jump with some over players to a newer kingdom to give yourself an advantage. If you do follow there advice, do not level up past city hall 7 so that you can use the beginners immigration within 9 days.
  • Attack barbarians and use up all you AP (action points) to gain items and level up your commanders.
  • Concentrate levelling up mainly one commander.  If you are free to play (ftp) do this with an epic commander (not a legendary).
  • Don't worry about the Garrison talent tree when levelling up your commander.
  • Lohar event will appear in the first few days of a new kingdom. use all you AP on attacking barbs, but save launching or summoning the Lohar's until after the event ends (as this will also use up your AP).  When the event does end rally these with others for some great rewards.
I hope this helps as a quick introduction.
